Under the Australian Privacy Act, you can ask us to:
Email support@betterquote.au, or use your in-app account settings where available. Please tell us your name, the email address on your BetterQuote account, and what you'd like us to do (access, correct, or delete). We may need to verify your identity before we act — this protects your information from someone requesting it without your permission.
We aim to respond within 30 days. If your request is complex and needs longer, we'll let you know and keep you updated.
When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account and the data associated with it from our systems. After an account is closed, we keep data for up to 12 months before deletion unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
We have to keep some records by law. Quote and financial records may be kept for up to 7 years to meet tax and record-keeping obligations, and we keep limited records where we need them to meet a legal obligation or deal with a dispute. We delete the rest.
Some of your content was processed by our AI providers (Anthropic for quote generation, Groq for voice transcription) to create your quotes. They hold data only briefly under their own terms; deleting your account removes it from our systems.
When you enter a customer's details to build a quote, that information is yours to manage — we hold and process it on your behalf. If one of your customers asks you to delete or correct the details you entered about them, you can:

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information or a request, please contact us first at support@betterquote.au so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
