How BetterQuote uses AI
BetterQuote uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to:
- Convert your job descriptions into structured line item quotes
- Estimate pricing based on typical Australian market rates when no price is provided
- Read photos of sketches, site notes, and drawings to build quotes from visual information
- Apply material calculations including quantities, wastage, and trade margins
- Edit and refine quotes based on your instructions
Limitations of AI-generated quotes
AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies. Common limitations include:
- Pricing estimates are based on typical market rates and may not reflect your local rates, supplier pricing, or current market conditions
- Quantities and measurements extracted from photos are estimates and must be verified on site
- Scope of works descriptions are generated from your input and may not capture every detail of the job
- Material specifications are inferred from your description and may need adjustment for your specific project
- The AI cannot account for site-specific conditions, access constraints, or unexpected complications
Your responsibility
BetterQuote does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any AI-generated quote. The service provider — you — remains solely responsible for:
- Reviewing all quotes before sending them to clients
- Ensuring pricing reflects your actual costs and margins
- Confirming quantities and measurements on site
- Any contractual obligation arising from a quote you send
- Compliance with trade licensing, insurance, and legal requirements
